Our market is shifting, what does that mean for you?
I am sure by now you’ve seen the newspaper headlines stating that the market has shifted and that we are now moving to a balanced market. Today I want to talk about this in our September housing market update.
Moving to a balanced market isn’t a bad thing, especially since we’ve been in a hot seller’s market with record pricing for over three years. This extended time has left buyers tired of the auction process that has been used to sell so many homes.
Even though inventory levels are increasing and buyers have more opportunities, this market reset is going to be a good thing for the overall health of the local housing market for everyone.

Great selling prices and multiple offers are still possible for sellers. In fact, we just signed today on a listing that we generated five offers on for our clients, and the winning bid was a cash buyer who agreed to pay $75,000 over asking price.
This just goes to show that top-tier agents are using great strategies to get maximum market exposure and are still generating at least a few offers for the sellers to consider. Anytime there are multiple offers, it allows us to have some leverage with buyers and give sellers a choice of price and terms.
